Just want Empire State Building?
Hello, way down there. Up here, I can touch the sky. I see tiny little cars and boats that look like toys. The wind whispers hello as it blows past my pointy top. I feel the soft clouds tickle my sides. I am a giant in a big, busy city. I love to watch over everyone, day and night. Do you know who I am. I am the Empire State Building, and I have a story to tell you.
My story began a long, long time ago. Clever people named Shreve, Lamb, and Harmon drew pictures of me on paper. They dreamed of making the tallest building in the whole world. On a special day, March 17th, 1930, brave workers started to build me. They put my strong steel bones together, piece by piece. Higher and higher I went. I grew so fast, just like a flower reaching for the sun. It was so exciting to see the city get smaller and smaller below me. In just over one year, I was all finished. On May 1st, 1931, I opened my shiny doors for everyone to see.
Now, I have a very important job. I am a friend to the city. People from all over the world come to visit me every single day. They ride my elevators way, way up to the top. From up here, they can see for miles and miles. It makes them so happy. At night, I get to wear different colors. I sparkle with red and green lights for Christmas. Sometimes I wear all the colors of the rainbow. I am a shining light, and I hope when you see me touching the clouds, you remember to dream big, big dreams, too.
