Just want Empire State Building?
In the heart of a city that buzzes like a giant beehive, I stretch toward the clouds. From way up here, cars look like tiny beetles, and people are like little ants scurrying along the sidewalks. I wear a crown of silver that touches the sky, and at night, I glow with colors for the whole city to see. I am a giant made of steel and stone, a watchful friend to millions of people who live and work all around me. Sometimes, I even get my head stuck in a puffy white cloud, but I don't mind. It feels like a soft hat. I am a very special and famous building. My name is the Empire State Building.
I was born from a big dream during a time called the Great Depression, when many people felt sad and worried about the future. A group of very smart architects named Shreve, Lamb & Harmon drew pictures of me, imagining a tower taller than any other in the whole world. Their dream was to give people something to feel proud of. On March 17th, 1930, brave construction workers started to build me, piece by piece. They worked so fast, it was like a race to the sky. Imagine building with giant metal LEGOs. That's what it was like. Each week, I grew four and a half stories taller, which is faster than a beanstalk. The workers were amazing, climbing high into the air to put every steel beam in the right place. Finally, on May 1st, 1931, I was all finished. I was built to be a symbol of hope, to show everyone that even in hard times, people could do amazing things together when they work hard and believe in their ideas.

For almost 40 years, I was the tallest building in the whole world. Can you believe it. People came from everywhere just to ride my speedy elevators all the way up to my observation decks. From the top, they could see the entire city sparkle below them, with bridges connecting lands and boats sailing in the water. I have been a silent watcher for so many important moments. I’ve seen parades march down the streets, watched colorful fireworks burst in the night sky on holidays, and felt the city change and grow all around me. Today, my lights change colors to celebrate holidays like Christmas or Halloween, to cheer for sports teams, or to remember important days in history. I am more than just a building; I am a place where dreams feel a little closer, reminding everyone to always look up and imagine what’s possible.
