The story

I Am a Story of Kindness

I am not made of wood or stone. My pages rustle like quiet leaves when you turn them. Inside me are brave people, sad songs, and big adventures in a city with sparkling lights. I am a story called Les Misérables, which means “The Miserable Ones,” but my story is full of hope. I live on a bookshelf, waiting for someone to open my cover and step into a world of words and feelings. My words are like little pictures that you can see in your mind. I am a very special book.

A kind man with a big imagination made me a long, long time ago. His name was Victor Hugo. He used a pen with black ink to write all my words on paper. He wrote about a man who learned to be very kind and a little girl who needed a friend to love her. Victor wanted to tell everyone a very important story about how helping one another can make the world a happy place. He worked for many years, and he finally finished writing all of my words in the year 1862.

My story made people feel big feelings. It made them feel happy and sad and full of hope. People loved my story so much that they turned it into a play with beautiful songs. They even made movies about me that you can watch. I am a story that sings on and on. I remind everyone that even a little bit of kindness is like a bright light. I help you imagine a world full of love, where everyone helps their friends and shares a smile.
