Just want Les Misérables?
Hello there. If you hold me in your hands, you can feel my strong cover and hear the soft whisper of my many pages turning. I am a book, but I am so much more than just paper and ink. I am a whole world filled with the busy streets of a big city, the bright sparkle of distant stars, and the amazing strength of brave hearts. My name is Les Misérables, which is a fancy way of saying 'The Miserable Ones'. That sounds sad, I know, but my story is really about something much happier. It is about how powerful hope can be, even when things seem very dark.
A very kind man with a big imagination wrote all my words. His name was Victor Hugo, and he lived in a beautiful country called France a long, long time ago. He saw people around him who were poor or treated unfairly, and it made him want to tell a story about them. He started writing my adventure around the year 1845 because he believed that showing kindness and fairness could change the world. It was a huge job. He spent seventeen years carefully choosing every word, creating every character, and building my world. Sometimes he had to stop writing me for a while, but he always came back to finish my story. Finally, in the spring of 1862, I was complete and ready to be shared. I was a very, very big book, with so many pages that it looked like a brick. But inside, there were many amazing characters to love and cheer for.
Inside my pages, you will meet some unforgettable people. My main hero is a man named Jean Valjean. He is looking for a second chance to be a good person after making a mistake long ago. But a very determined policeman named Javert follows him everywhere, believing he can never change. Then there is a sweet little girl named Cosette, who is very poor and sad until she finds a loving new home. Their adventures take them all through the city of Paris. One of the most famous parts of my story happens during a real event called the June Rebellion, which took place between June 5th and June 6th in 1832. Brave young people stood up for what they believed in. When people first read my story long ago, they cheered for my heroes, felt sad when they were in trouble, and smiled when they found joy.

My story became so loved that it didn't just stay on my paper pages. It leaped onto the stage and became a world-famous musical with loud, powerful songs that tell my story in a new way. Today, people all over the world still read my words and watch my story on stage. They do this to remember the power of love, the importance of forgiveness, and the goodness of helping others. I hope I can always be a reminder that even in the hardest times, just one small act of kindness can change everything.
