Just want Miffy?
Hello there. If you look closely at me, you’ll see I’m made of just a few simple things. I have a perfectly round head and two long ears that stand straight up, always ready to listen. My body is a simple shape, perfect for wearing my favorite red or blue dress. And my face. well, it has two little dots for eyes and a small 'x' for my mouth. It might not seem like much, but it’s all I need to show you when I am happy, curious, or ready for an adventure. I live in a world filled with bright, cheerful colors. The sun is a warm yellow, the grass is a lovely green, and my best dress is a bright, happy red. My creator made my world this way so it would always feel friendly and welcoming, like a big hug. With my simple lines and happy colors, I am ready to be your friend. My name is Miffy.
My story began a long, long time ago, during a sunny summer holiday in 1955. A kind artist named Dick Bruna was staying with his family in a little town by the sea in a country called the Netherlands. One evening, he saw a little white rabbit hopping around in the grassy hills near the beach, which are called dunes. Later that night, he told his young son a bedtime story all about that little rabbit and its adventures. His son loved the story so much that Dick decided to draw the rabbit. He didn't use lots of wiggly lines or complicated colors. Instead, he used a thick, black line to draw my shape, making me bold and clear. He wanted me to always look right at you, the person reading my book, as if I were talking directly to you. He filled my world with simple, bright colors because he believed they were the most honest and cheerful. My very first book, where my adventures began for everyone to see, was published on June 21st, 1955. From that day on, I wasn't just a bedtime story anymore. I was a friend for children all over the world.

I was a friend for children all over the world.
From that very first book, my world grew bigger and bigger. I began to travel across the pages and into the homes of children everywhere. My adventures are not about fighting dragons or finding treasure. They are about the small things in life that feel very big and important when you are young. I love riding my bicycle, going to the zoo to see the animals, celebrating a friend’s birthday, or even just playing in the snow. Because my creator, Dick Bruna, drew me with such simple shapes, children discovered that they could draw me, too. With just a circle, a few lines, and an 'x', they could bring their very own Miffy to life. This made me feel like I was everyone's special friend. The kind man who created me, Dick Bruna, passed away in 2017, but he left my stories behind to keep sharing joy. I show everyone that you don’t need lots of fancy details to tell a wonderful story. Sometimes, the biggest feelings and the best adventures come from the simplest shapes and a whole lot of heart.
