The story

A Song for Everyone

Before you could even talk, you knew me. I am the bounce on a knee, the clap of hands, and the cozy song that helps you fall asleep. I am a silly story about a sheep, a spider, or a star that winks at you from high above. I travel on the wind from one smiling face to another, a little bit of magic shared between grown-ups and children. I am the happy, funny songs you know as Nursery Rhymes.

I wasn't made by just one person. I was born in the voices of mothers, fathers, and grandparents hundreds of years ago, long before there were cars or cartoons. People sang me while they worked in the fields or played games in the village square. They shared my silly words and bouncy tunes to make each other smile. Over time, I was passed down like a secret treasure from one family to another. Around the year 1744, someone decided to gather some of my rhymes into a little book called 'Tommy Thumb's Pretty Song Book' so that even more children could learn and love me. That was the first time many of my little poems were written down for everyone to share.

I am here to help you play and learn. I teach you how to count your fingers, say your letters, and not give up, just like the itsy bitsy spider. When you sing 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,' you are wondering about the big, beautiful world. Every time you sing one of my songs, you are connecting with children from today and from long, long ago. I am a forever-friend, a song in your heart that you can share with everyone you meet.
