Just want Tango?
Listen. Can you hear the music? Sometimes it sounds happy and bouncy. Sometimes it is soft and slow. Two friends step close together. Their feet go tap-tap-tap on the floor. They glide and spin, moving like one big, warm hug. The music helps them share a special feeling without saying a single word. I am that feeling. I am the Tango.
I was born a long, long time ago, way back in the 1880s. My first home was a big city called Buenos Aires, right next to the big, blue water. Many people came to my city on giant boats from places far, far away. They were starting new lives, but sometimes they felt a little sad and missed their old homes. They brought their music and their feelings with them. They mixed it all together to create me. When they danced with me, they made new friends and felt happy and close to one another again. I helped them feel at home.
Soon, I got to ride on the big boats, too. I traveled across the water to new cities all over the world. Everyone wanted to learn my steps. They loved my music and the way I felt. I am a dance of hugs and heartbeats. I am a secret story that you tell with your feet and your heart. I show everyone that no matter where you are from, you can always share a feeling and connect with a friend, one happy dance step at a time.
