Just want Victoria (ship)?
Whoosh. Splash. The big blue water rocks me back and forth. I love the feeling of the wind pushing my big white sails. It feels like a gentle push, sending me on an adventure. My body is made of strong brown wood, and I float on top of the waves all day long. I am a very special boat. My name is Victoria, and I am a ship that went on the biggest journey you can imagine. I got to see the whole wide world. It was a very, very big adventure, and I was very brave and very strong.
I did not go on my journey all by myself. I had four sister ships with me. We were a family of five ships sailing together. Our leader was a brave explorer named Ferdinand Magellan. He wanted to find a secret path across the ocean. On a sunny day, August 10th, 1519, we all sailed away from a country called Spain. We were looking for islands full of yummy spices that make food taste so good. We sailed for many days and many nights. We saw bright new stars in the sky and lands we had never seen before. The ocean was so big, and we were so small, but we kept on sailing.
Our big journey was very hard. The wind blew very strong, and the waves were very high. My sister ships got very tired and couldn't finish the trip. But I was strong, and I kept going. I sailed and sailed for three whole years. Then, one happy day, on September 6th, 1522, I sailed all the way back home to Spain. I did it. I was the very first ship to sail all the way around the world. It was like I gave the whole world a great big hug. My story shows everyone how big and round our world is. And it shows that even if you feel small, you can have a giant adventure. You just have to keep going.
