The Boston Tea Party
Hello. I am a colonist, and I lived in a town called Boston a very, very long time ago. Back then, a king who lived far across the big ocean made all the rules for us. One day, he made a new rule that we did not like at all. He said we had to buy his special tea and pay extra money for it. This did not feel fair. Why should we pay extra just because the king said so? It made me and my friends, the other colonists, feel very grumpy. We would whisper to each other, “This is not fair.” We wanted to make our own choices, and the king’s new rule felt very bossy.
