The story

Rembrandt the Story Painter

Hello there. My name is Rembrandt, and I am a painter. I lived a long, long time ago in a wonderful, busy city called Amsterdam. My city was full of exciting things to see. Big ships with tall, white sails would float in the water, bringing treasures from far away. The markets were noisy and happy, filled with colorful flowers and sweet-smelling fruits. I loved to walk through the streets and see all the smiling people in their fancy clothes. It was a happy time, and my city gave me so many ideas for my pictures.

I love to paint more than anything. With my brushes and my special paints, I could make magic. I would mix a little yellow and a little red to make a bright orange, just like a sunset. I painted pictures of my friends and my family, capturing their happy smiles and twinkling eyes. They often wore big, fluffy collars and dark, velvety hats, and it was so much fun to paint all the details. I even painted my own face many times. I would look in a mirror and make a serious face or a silly face, and then I would paint it. One time, I painted a huge picture of a group of friends getting ready for an adventure, marching together like brave heroes.

My paintings are like stories that you can look at. Each picture saves a happy moment, like a secret kept safe forever. When you look at one of my paintings, you can see the smile of a friend from long ago or feel the warmth of a sunny day. You can be a painter, too. All you have to do is look around you at our wonderful world. You can draw a picture of your family, your pet, or a beautiful flower in your garden. Your pictures can tell your very own special stories for everyone to see.
