The story

Fatima's Special Journey to Mecca

Hello, my name is Fatima. I am so excited. Today, my family and I are going on a very special trip. It is a journey called Hajj. We are going to a special city called Mecca. To get ready, I put on my special clothes. They are two simple pieces of white cloth called Ihram. My brother and my dad wear them too. My mom and sister wear simple, modest clothes. Everyone on the trip wears simple clothes like us. We all look like one big, happy family getting ready for an adventure together. It feels so special.

When we arrived in the city of Mecca, my eyes opened wide. Wow. In the middle of a big, open space was something amazing. It was the Kaaba. It looked like a giant, black cube, and it felt so peaceful just looking at it. A beautiful black cloth with golden writing covered it. My mom and dad held my hands tight. We started walking in a circle around the Kaaba with so many other people. I saw people from all over the world. Some had different skin colors and spoke different languages, but we were all doing the same thing. We were all walking together and praying. It felt like the whole world was holding hands. I felt so happy and close to my family and to God. It was the most wonderful feeling.

After our special prayers and walks, it was time for a big celebration. The end of Hajj is a happy festival called Eid al-Adha. It is a time for sharing and being thankful. We shared food with others and gave gifts. Everyone was smiling and hugging their families. I felt so much love all around me. My trip for Hajj was over, but I will always remember the big, beautiful Kaaba and the feeling of being part of one giant family. It taught me about sharing, being together, and feeling close to God.
