Just want Indian Independence Movement?
Hello there. My name is Mohandas, but many people called me Mahatma Gandhi. I lived in a beautiful, sunny country called India. It was my home, filled with wonderful friends and families. But for a long time, people from a country far away called Britain were in charge of our home. It felt like having visitors who decided all the rules for your house, and it wasn't always fair. I wanted my friends in India to be able to make their own choices, like a big family taking care of their own home together.
I had a very special idea. Instead of being angry or fighting, I believed the best way to make a change was with peace and kindness. I called this 'ahimsa,' which means not hurting anyone. We decided to show we could do things for ourselves. One sunny day, on March 12th, 1930, I started a very, very long walk to the big, sparkly sea. Many of my friends came with me. We walked for days and days, singing songs and holding hands. When we got to the sea, we picked up some salty sand to show that we could make our own salt. It was our quiet, peaceful way of saying, 'We can take care of ourselves.'.
Our peaceful walks and kind words worked. After a long, long time, our visitors from Britain went back to their own country. On a very happy day, August 15th, 1947, India became free. We could finally make our own rules and take care of our home, just the way we wanted. It showed everyone that you don’t need to shout or fight to make big, wonderful things happen. The strongest power in the world is love and peace. And you can use that power, too, just by being kind to everyone you meet.
