The story

A Golden Time with Emperor Xuanzong

Hello from a Golden Time.

Hello, little friend. My name is Xuanzong, and I was an emperor a long, long time ago. I lived in a big, beautiful city called Chang'an. My palace had shiny green and yellow roofs that sparkled in the sun like jewels. Outside, my gardens were full of colorful flowers that smelled sweet. Big, friendly lion statues stood by the gates to say hello. It was a very happy and bright place to live, and I loved sharing its beauty with everyone in my kingdom during a special time we called the Tang Dynasty.

A World of Colors and Songs.

My time as emperor, from the year 712 to the year 756, was part of a wonderful age in China. It was a time filled with art and music. I loved to watch talented artists make amazing things. They made clay horses and camels that looked so real you thought they might walk away. Ladies in my court wore long, silky dresses in colors like the sunset and danced like butterflies. We also had a special path called the Silk Road. It wasn't made of silk, but it was just as special. Friends from faraway places would travel on this road to bring us wonderful gifts like sparkly glass and new spices. They shared their stories and songs, and we shared ours too. Our city was a rainbow of happy people and new ideas.

A Gift for the Future.

Why was this time so golden and bright. Because we all believed that sharing beautiful things makes the world a happier place. We wrote poems about the moon, painted pictures of mountains, and played happy songs on our instruments. Making and sharing art was like giving a gift to everyone. I grew very old and my time on Earth ended, but the beautiful paintings and poems we made are still here for people to enjoy today. You can make beautiful things too. When you draw a picture or sing a song for someone, you are sharing a gift from your heart, just like we did. That is a wonderful power to have.
