Just want Andrzejki - Polish?
Hello! I am Andrzejki, a special holiday from Poland. People celebrate me on the night of November 29th. My name is the Polish word for Andrew. I am a time for friends and family to gather together for fun and exciting games before the winter becomes very cold. It is a night full of laughter and surprises.
My most famous tradition is a special game that uses hot wax and cool water. First, an adult carefully melts some wax to make it warm and liquid. Then, they take an old-fashioned key, the kind with a hole at the top. They hold the key over a big bowl filled with cold water. Very carefully, they pour the melted wax right through the key's little hole. The warm wax drips down into the cold water below and instantly hardens into a brand new, secret shape.
Once the wax has cooled into a solid piece, the most exciting part of the game begins. Someone picks up the new wax shape and holds it in front of a light so that its shadow appears on a wall. Everyone gathers around to look at the big, dark shadow. Is it a heart? Does it look like a car? Or maybe it looks like a funny animal! Everyone has fun guessing what the shadow shape means. It is a playful game people once used to try and guess what their future might be like. Today, it is a joyful way to spend time together.
