Just want Easter?
Hello! I am the holiday called Easter. For many people, who are called Christians, I am a very important time of the year. When they celebrate me, they remember a special story about Jesus. This story tells about his return to life. For Christians, this is a sign of hope. It also helps them think about new beginnings and fresh starts.
My date is a little different every year, but I always arrive in the springtime. Spring is a beautiful season when the world feels new again. After the cold of winter, the sun feels warm. Fresh flowers begin to push up through the soil, showing their bright colors. It is also a time when many baby animals are born. Because I happen during this happy season, many of my traditions are about new life.
People observe me in many different ways. Some go to church, where they might pray together or sing songs. Many families also have their own special traditions at home. A very popular one is decorating eggs. Children and grown-ups use bright colors to paint pretty patterns on them. Then, they might have an egg hunt! The colorful eggs are hidden all around a yard or inside a house for everyone to find. These are some of the ways people celebrate me as a time of hope and new life.
