Just want Ramadan?
Hello! I am Ramadan. I am a very special time for people called Muslims who live all over the world. My place is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. This calendar is special because it follows the moon as it changes in the night sky. I am a very important month for Muslims. They believe that their holy book, called the Quran, was first shown to people during my time, a very long time ago.
During my month, many grown-up Muslims do something called fasting. Fasting means they do not eat any food or drink anything from the time the sun rises in the morning until it sets in the evening. This helps them take time to think about being kind to everyone. It is also a time for them to feel thankful for all the good things they have. When the sun finally goes down, families and friends gather together. They eat a special meal called Iftar to break their fast and enjoy being with each other.
My time is also about sharing and being kind. People think about others who may need help and give them things like food or money. It is a time for everyone to be close to their families and friends. When my month comes to an end, a big, happy festival begins. It is called Eid al-Fitr. To celebrate, people enjoy delicious foods, wear new clothes, and children often receive presents. It is a joyful end to my special time.
