Just want Three Kings' Day - Mexican?
Hello! I am Three Kings’ Day. In Mexico, many people call me Día de los Reyes Magos. Families celebrate me every year on January 6th. My day is a special time for everyone to enjoy together. I am the last celebration of the Christmas holiday season.
When people celebrate me, they remember a story from the Christian faith. This story tells of three wise kings who saw a very bright star shining in the night sky. The kings decided to follow the star. It led them on a long journey. At the end of their journey, the star showed them where to find the baby Jesus. The kings brought him special gifts to welcome him.
One of my most fun traditions is a special food. Families gather to eat a sweet bread called a Rosca de Reyes. It is shaped like a big ring and is very delicious. Hidden somewhere inside the bread is a tiny figure of the baby Jesus! It is a happy surprise for the person who finds it. The night before my celebration, children also leave their shoes out. They hope that the Three Kings will visit while they are sleeping and leave small gifts for them to find in the morning.
