Just want Benz Patent-Motorwagen?
Hello there. My name is the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, but you can call me the very first car. I am very special because I only have three wheels, not four like the cars you see today. To steer me, you use a little handle, not a big round wheel. A very smart man named Karl Benz made me in his workshop in a country called Germany. He built me in 1886. My very first ride was so wobbly and exciting. I made a lot of clanky, rattly sounds as I rolled down the street. It was the best day ever.
Before I came along, people used carts that were pulled by strong horses. Clip-clop, clip-clop, they went. Karl Benz wanted to make something that could move all on its own, a 'horseless carriage'. So, he gave me a little engine. It made a funny sound, putt-putt-putt, but it worked. My very first public drive was on a sunny day, July 3rd, 1886, in a town called Mannheim. People stopped and stared. They were so surprised to see me moving without a horse. They pointed and smiled. I felt so proud to show them what I could do.
My big idea started a whole new world of travel. After me, other people started to build more cars. They gave them four wheels, shiny paint, and cozy seats. Every time you see a fast car, a big yellow bus, or a rumbling truck, you can think of me. I am a little part of all of them. I was the very first one to go vroom. I was so happy to help people travel to new places, visit their families, and go on wonderful adventures all around the world.
