Just want QR Code?
Hello. My name is QR Code. I am a little square with lots of black and white dots, and I look like a fun puzzle. I hold special secrets inside my pattern for you to find. I was born to help grown-ups in a big factory where they made cars. I helped them keep track of all the car parts very, very fast. It was my first job and I was so happy to help everyone.
My story began on June 1st, 1994, in a faraway place called Japan. A very smart man named Masahiro Hara and his friends made me. They were inspired by a game called Go, which has lots of little black and white stones on a board. They thought, 'What if we made a code that looked like this game. It could hold lots of secrets'. The old codes were just stripy lines and couldn't hold very much. So, they designed me to be a super code that could be read from any direction, super duper fast.
I have a superpower. When a phone or a tablet looks at me and takes my picture, zap. I share my secret with you. It works like magic. You might see me on your toy box, and when you scan me, a fun game pops up. You might see me on a poster at the zoo, and when you scan me, you can watch a video of a silly monkey eating a banana. I love sharing my fun surprises with you. It is my favorite thing to do.
A Helper in Your Pocket I am a helpful little square in your world. I am like a magic door. With just a quick scan, I can take you from looking at a book to playing a game or watching a cartoon. I make it easy to jump into a world of fun and learning. I love being your little helper that fits right in your pocket.
