The story

Bifrost, the Rainbow Bridge

Hello. Can you see me in the sky after the rain? I am a bridge made of shimmering, dancing colors. My name is Bifrost, and I connect the world of people to a magical home for the gods called Asgard. A long, long time ago, the Viking people would look up and tell stories about me. This is the myth of Bifrost, the amazing rainbow bridge.

I was a very strong and fiery bridge. Only the gods could walk on me. The wise father Odin walked on my path. The mighty Thor walked on my path with his big hammer. Boom. Boom. Boom. Their heavy steps made my colors sparkle and hum. At the very end of my path was my best friend, a guard named Heimdall. He had eyes that could see for miles and miles. He had ears that could hear the grass growing. He made sure only gods and their special friends could use the beautiful path that was me.

The Viking people told this story to their children. It helped explain the beautiful rainbow they saw in the sky. It made the world feel full of magic and wonder. Today, when you see a rainbow, you can remember me, Bifrost. My story helps us imagine that there is always a path to something amazing. It reminds us to always look up and wonder at the beautiful colors in the sky.
