Just want Bifrost?
Hello there. My name is Heimdall, and I have the most important job in all the Nine Worlds. From my home at the edge of the sky, I watch over a shimmering, colorful path that connects the world of the gods to the world of humans. It's my duty to keep it safe from our enemies. This is the story of that magical, burning rainbow road, the myth of the Bifrost.
Long, long ago, the All-Father, Odin, and the other gods built a home for themselves high in the sky. They called it Asgard, a magnificent fortress of gold and silver where my friends, like the mighty Thor, lived. Down below was your world, which we call Midgard. To travel between our worlds, we needed a special path. So, the gods created the most wonderful bridge you can imagine. It was the Bifrost, a shimmering rainbow that arched across the great open sky. It wasn't just beautiful; it was made of three magical colors woven together. The red strand was a living fire, always burning hot to keep out the fearsome frost giants and other enemies who wanted to cause trouble in Asgard.
My post is at the very top of the bridge, right where it meets the golden gates of Asgard. I am its ever-watchful guardian. I never need to sleep, my eyesight is so sharp I can see for a hundred miles, and my hearing is so keen I can hear wool growing on a sheep. It's true. Around my neck, I carry my great horn, the Gjallarhorn. If any danger ever came near, I would blow a mighty blast that would echo through all the Nine Worlds to warn the gods. I often heard the mighty Thor riding his goat-pulled chariot across the Bifrost. The whole bridge would thunder and shake with a great RUMBLE, and I would smile, knowing he was off to Midgard for another adventure.

The Viking people of Scandinavia were the first humans to tell my story. For them, seeing a rainbow after a big storm wasn't just pretty light and water; it was a magical sign from us. They truly believed they were seeing the real bridge of the gods, a promise that Asgard was still standing strong and that we were watching over them. This ancient story has inspired people for thousands of years. Artists paint pictures of the glowing bridge, and writers create brand new adventures for Thor and the other gods who crossed it. So, even today, every time a beautiful rainbow stretches across the sky after the rain, you can remember the myth of the Bifrost. It's a story that connects your world to a world of imagination and reminds you to always look up and wonder.
