Just want Camelot?
Hello there. My name is Camelot. You might think I'm just a castle with tall, shining towers, but I'm much more than that. I am a dream, a place where bravery and kindness were the most important treasures of all. For a little while, I was the heart of a great kingdom, and I want to tell you the story of the legend of Camelot.
Long, long ago, in a green and misty land called Britain, a wise magician named Merlin used his magic to help a young, noble boy named Arthur pull a sword from a stone. This proved Arthur was the true king. To give his good king a worthy home, Merlin helped build me—Camelot. My white stone walls rose high into the clouds, and my flags snapped cheerfully in the wind. I wasn't just any castle; I was a promise of a better, fairer world for everyone.
King Arthur was a kind and just ruler. He believed that everyone deserved to be treated with respect. Inside my great hall, he placed a giant, magnificent table called the Round Table. It was round so that no knight who sat there could feel more important than another. The bravest and kindest knights in the land, like Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad, gathered there. They promised to be loyal, to protect people who were in trouble, and to always be honest and fair. These were the Knights of the Round Table, and their adventures were legendary.
From my gates, the knights rode out on exciting quests. They might be searching for a magical cup called the Holy Grail, rescuing villagers from a grumpy dragon, or simply helping a traveler who was lost. Queen Guinevere, with her wise heart, often gave them good advice before they left. My halls echoed with songs, stories of their brave deeds, and laughter. For a while, I was the brightest, happiest, and safest place in the whole world, a shining light of goodness.

For a while, I was the brightest, happiest, and safest place in the whole world, a shining light of goodness.
But like all beautiful dreams, the time of Camelot had to end. The knights scattered, and King Arthur was taken away to a magical island to heal. My towers grew quiet, and I slowly faded into the mist, becoming a legend. But even though you can't find me on a map anymore, my story was never forgotten. Bards and storytellers have told the tale of Camelot for hundreds of years, since it was first written down by a poet named Chrétien de Troyes in the 12th century. The story became even more famous when Sir Thomas Malory collected all the tales in a big book called Le Morte d'Arthur on October 12th, 1485.
Even today, the idea of Camelot inspires people. It reminds us to be brave, to help others, and to believe that we can make the world a better place. Artists paint pictures of my shining towers, writers create new stories about King Arthur's knights, and filmmakers make movies about their adventures. The dream of Camelot is a reminder that even a small act of kindness can be as mighty as a knight's sword. And whenever you choose to be fair and good, you are keeping a little piece of my magic alive in the world.
