The story

The Legend of Colapesce

There once was a boy named Colapesce who loved the big blue sea. He lived on a sunny island where the water was warm and sparkly. Colapesce loved to swim with the colorful fish. He played hide-and-seek with the tiny crabs. He could hold his breath for a long, long time. He would dive deep, deep down to see wonderful treasures. People said he was more fish than boy! This is the story of how Colapesce became a special helper, the legend of Colapesce.

A kind king lived on the island. He heard all about the amazing boy who could swim so well. The king went to the shore and asked Colapesce to do something very important. 'Colapesce,' he said, 'I dropped my favorite golden cup in the sea. Can you find it?'. Colapesce smiled. He took a big breath, and SPLASH! He dove down into the water. He found the cup and brought it back. The king was so happy! Then the king asked, 'Can you find my shiny crown?'. Colapesce dove even deeper and brought back the crown. Finally, the king had a very big question. 'What holds up our beautiful island at the bottom of the sea?'.

To answer the king's big question, Colapesce took the biggest breath ever. He swam down, down, down. It was very dark and quiet, but he was not scared. He saw something amazing. The island was resting on three giant pillars! But oh no, one of the pillars was wobbly and cracked. Colapesce knew he had to help. He decided to stay there in the deep blue water. He used all his strength to hold up the pillar. He wanted to keep everyone on his island safe and sound. He is still there today, a brave boy watching over the island. His story reminds everyone to be brave and caring.
