The story

King Laurin's Rose Garden

High up in the tall, tall mountains lived a little king. His name was King Laurin, and he was the king of the dwarves. The clouds floated by his home like fluffy white sheep. King Laurin had a wonderful secret. It was his magical rose garden. The garden was filled with the sparkliest red roses. The roses smelled so sweet and yummy. They were red, red, red. This is the story of King Laurin's Rose Garden.

One day, a big knight came into the garden. Oh no. The knight was not careful. He stomped on the pretty flowers with his big boots. Stomp, stomp, stomp. This made King Laurin very sad. His heart felt sad to see his red roses all messy. King Laurin was so sad, he wanted to hide his garden. He waved his little hands and said a magic spell. 'My garden of roses, hide away. Hide away by night and day.' And poof. Just like that, the garden was gone. No one could see it anymore.

But King Laurin forgot one little thing. He forgot about the special time when the sun says hello in the morning. And he forgot the time when the sun says goodbye at night. The magic spell did not work at sunrise and sunset. So, the garden peeks out. It paints the big mountains with a pretty, rosy-red glow. The mountains glow red, just like the roses. If you look at the mountains at just the right time, you can see the magic. The beautiful garden is still there, glowing for everyone to see. It shows that beautiful things can always find a way to shine.
