The story

The Birth of Venus

Look. Way out on the big, blue sea, something magical is happening. A beautiful lady floats on a giant seashell. The sea foam sparkles all around her like glitter. This is the story of the Birth of Venus.

Long, long ago, people saw many wonderful things. They saw bright red flowers and soft yellow flowers. They saw fluffy white doves fly high in the blue sky. Hugs from family made them feel warm and happy. People wondered, “Where does all this love come from?”. They wondered, “Where does all this beauty come from?”. They dreamed of a special person who brought all this goodness to the world. They called her Venus.

The story says Venus was born right from the sparkly sea. She floated to the shore on her big, pretty shell. When her feet touched the sand, guess what happened. Pop. Pop. Pop. Pretty flowers grew all around her. Venus had a little helper, too. His name was Cupid. Cupid was a happy boy with little wings. He had a tiny bow and arrow. When his arrow gently touched someone's heart, they felt full of love. Venus and Cupid helped everyone see beautiful things and feel happy feelings.

People loved the story of Venus. It helped them remember to be kind. It helped them see happy things all around them. Artists painted big, beautiful pictures of Venus on her seashell. We can still see them today. The story of Venus shows us that love is everywhere. It is in a pretty flower. It is in a warm hug. It is in a sparkly star. It is a happy story that will be told forever and ever.

About

Venus is the Roman goddess of love, beauty, desire, victory, and prosperity. She is a central figure in Roman mythology. Some stories say she was born from sea foam, but this idea is more closely linked to her Greek counterpart, Aphrodite. Other tales describe her as the daughter of Jupiter and Dione. Venus has inspired countless works of art throughout history.
