Just want Doctors Without Borders?
Hello! We are Doctors Without Borders. That’s a long name, but it tells you what we do. We are a big team of doctors and nurses who help people all over the world. We are helpers who travel to places where people need us most. Sometimes, people get sick or hurt in a place where there isn't a doctor or a hospital close by. That’s when we pack our bags and go to them. We bring everything we need to give care and help people feel healthy and safe again.
Our group began a long time ago, in the year 1971. A few doctors who lived in a country called France saw a problem. They knew that in many parts of the world, people were suffering and had no one to help them. These doctors wanted to do something about it. They decided to form a new group that could go anywhere to help. They wanted to be able to travel across borders—the invisible lines between countries—to reach people in need. That is how we started our important work.
Today, our work continues all around the world. We still go to places that need us. Our teams bring important things like medicine and clean bandages. We often set up special clinics, sometimes in big tents, where people can come to see a doctor or a nurse. We help everyone feel better. We believe that every single person deserves care. It does not matter where they are from or what they believe. Our job is to help anyone who is sick or hurt.
