Helping Girls Learn: The Story of Malala Fund

Hello! We are the Malala Fund. Our name might sound a little new, but our job is very important. We are a team of helpers, and our main goal is to make sure every single girl in the world has the chance to go to school. We believe that learning is a wonderful adventure. When girls learn to read, write, and think, they can dream big dreams for their future. Every girl deserves to have her own dreams and the chance to make them come true.

We started our work in the year 2013. We were created by a very brave girl named Malala and her wonderful father, Ziauddin. Malala loves going to school and learning new things more than anything. She believes that school is a special place where you can discover the world. She wanted all girls, everywhere, to feel the same joy of learning that she does. So, she and her father started us, the Malala Fund, to turn that big wish into a real plan.

So, what do we do all day? We work hard to help girls in many different ways. One of the things we do is help build schools that are safe and welcoming places to learn. A good school is a happy school! We also help make sure girls have all the tools they need to be great students. This means we give them things like books to read, pencils to write with, and backpacks to carry everything in.

We also have another very important job. We talk to grown-up leaders all over the world. These leaders are people who make the rules for their towns and countries. We ask them to make good rules that help every girl get an education. We want to make sure that school is always an option for every girl. Our work continues today because there are still many girls who need our help to get the education they deserve.
