Just want Vikings?
Hello! We are the Vikings. We lived a very, very long time ago. Our homes were in lands called Scandinavia, where it could be very cold. We loved the sea and we were great explorers. We wanted to see what was across the wide water. To do this, we built amazing boats. We called them longships. They were special because they were long and strong. We sailed in our longships to find new places far away from our homes. Sailing was a big adventure for us.
We lived with our whole family in big wooden houses. Our homes were called longhouses because they were very long! Everyone in the family lived together under one roof. In the middle of the longhouse, we had a warm fire. It kept us cozy and gave us light. We were farmers, so we spent a lot of time outside. We grew food in our fields and raised animals on our farms. We also liked to make beautiful things. We would carve pretty designs into pieces of wood. We loved telling stories, too. We told exciting stories about brave heroes and their great adventures.
Our time was long ago, but people still remember us today. You can visit a museum to learn about our lives. In a museum, you might see one of our amazing longships that sailed the seas. You can also look at the beautiful things we carved from wood. The exciting stories we told about heroes are still shared in books. We are remembered as brave explorers who were not afraid to sail our ships to many new lands across the ocean.
