Just want Xiongnu?
Hello! We are the Xiongnu. We lived a long, long time ago. Our home was on big, grassy plains. Because we moved from one place to another, we were known as nomads. We didn't stay in one spot for very long.
Our animals needed fresh grass to eat, so we always moved to find new pastures for them. We had herds of wonderful horses and fluffy sheep that traveled with us. They were very important to our families, and we took good care of them as we moved across the land.
We had special homes that could move with us. We lived in cozy, round tents called yurts. Our yurts were warm and kept us safe from the wind. They were made so we could pack them up when it was time to find a new place to camp. When we found a good spot with plenty of grass, we would set up our yurts again. It was our way of taking our homes with us wherever we went.
Horses were a big part of our lives. We learned how to ride our horses when we were just little kids. They were more than just animals to us; they were our friends. Our amazing horses helped us do so many things. We could travel far and fast across the plains on their backs. They also helped us look after our herds of animals, keeping them all together.
We lived many, many years ago, but people still remember us today. They learn about our lives by looking at the things we left behind. People find old tools that we used and pretty jewelry that we wore. Studying these objects helps everyone learn about our lives as nomads on the great plains.
