The Land of the Friendly Dragon

I have a long, wiggly wall that stretches up and down my green mountains, just like a sleeping dragon. My rivers are like shiny ribbons flowing to the big, blue sea. In my forests, you can find fluffy pandas with black and white fur, munching on yummy, crunchy bamboo. Can you guess who I am? That's right. I am the country of China. I am a place full of wiggles and wonders for you to explore. I love when friends come to visit me.

My story is very, very old, as old as a big mountain. A long, long time ago, smart people who lived here made wonderful things. Around the year 105, they made paper so everyone could draw beautiful pictures and write happy stories. They also invented colorful kites that could dance with the wind high up in the sky. So many things happened over the years. Then, on a special day, October 1st, 1949, I became the big, happy family I am today. I am called the People's Republic of China, and I am proud of my long story.

Today, my home is bright and busy. I have sparkling cities with tall, shiny buildings that tickle the clouds. Super-fast trains zip across my land, saying "whoosh" as they go. My favorite time is when we celebrate the Lunar New Year. Families hang glowing red lanterns that look like little suns, and they eat yummy dumplings together. I love to share my fun stories, my cute pandas, and my big heart with all the children in the world. I am always happy to make new friends.
