Just want Granada?
I rest at the feet of the tall, snowy Sierra Nevada mountains. If you walk through my gardens, you can hear the gentle splash of fountains and the soft strum of a guitar playing a sweet song. The wonderful smell of jasmine and orange blossoms floats through the air, making everything feel like a dream. People come from all over to see my treasures and walk my old, winding streets. I am the city of Granada.
My most famous treasure is a palace called the Alhambra. Long, long ago, a ruler named Muhammad I decided he wanted to build a beautiful palace on my highest hill. He started in the year 1238. For many years after that, talented artists worked very hard. They carved my walls with patterns that look like delicate lace. They covered them in colorful tiles that shimmer and shine like jewels in the sun. They built peaceful courtyards with sparkling pools and a very special fountain that is held up by twelve strong stone lions. Next to the palace, they planted beautiful gardens called the Generalife. It became a cool, green paradise where kings and queens could walk and listen to the birds sing.
For a long time, I was a palace of dreams for those rulers. Then, on January 2nd, 1492, two new rulers arrived. Their names were Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand. When they saw me, they thought I was the most beautiful place in the world. They loved my beauty so much that they decided to make me their home. They brought new ideas with them. Soon, they began to build a giant, beautiful Cathedral that reached high into my blue sky. They started building it in the year 1523. Now, my streets show off both the delicate, swirling art of my first builders and the grand, soaring buildings of the new kings and queens, living happily side-by-side.

Today, my cobblestone streets are filled with happy sounds and music. You can hear the clicking heels and passionate songs of flamenco dancers telling stories with their movements. People from all over the world still visit me to see the amazing Alhambra and to get lost wandering through my old neighborhoods. I love sharing my history with everyone who comes to visit. I am a place that proves that when different stories and cultures come together, they can create something truly magical and beautiful that everyone can share and enjoy for many years to come.
