The story

The Secret of Loch Ness

Deep, deep down, my water is cool and dark. Shhh. Can you hear me splash and ripple against the shore? Big green hills hug me all around, and sometimes a soft, white blanket of mist covers me like a cozy quilt. I am a very special place in a country called Scotland. For a long, long time, I have held a wonderful secret in my chilly water. I am a big, special lake. I am the famous Loch Ness!

I have been here for a very, very long time. Giant blocks of ice, like huge frozen toys, slowly carved me out of the land around 10,000 years ago. An old, stony castle has sat by my side for many years, watching over my water like a friendly guard. But my biggest story is my secret. It’s a fun, mysterious story about a creature who might live deep inside me. People started talking about my creature, Nessie, after a story was told on May 2nd, 1933. Since that day, everyone has wondered about my secret friend.

Today, friends from all over the world come to visit me. They ride in little boats that float gently on my back. They peek into my dark water, looking and looking with excited eyes. They hope to see a little splash or a friendly head pop up to say hello. But the real magic isn't just about finding Nessie. It's about being outside in nature, telling happy stories with your family, and using your imagination to dream big dreams. My best secret is the joy we can all share together.
