Just want Mekong Delta?
I am a place where water is everywhere. Little rivers stretch out like sleepy green dragons, and wooden boats bob on my waters like ducks in a pond. I am covered in bright green fields and trees with colorful, yummy fruit. I am in a warm, sunny country called Vietnam. Do you know who I am? I am the Mekong Delta.
A mighty river, the Mekong, made me a very long time ago, even before your grandparents' grandparents were born. For thousands of years, it carried mud and sand to build my land, bit by bit. As early as the 1st century, people saw how special I was and built their homes here. They learned to grow fluffy white rice in my fields, which tickle the sky. They found that my soil was perfect for growing sweet mangoes and juicy pineapples. Families have lived with me, on my water and my land, for as long as anyone can remember.
Today, I am still a busy, happy home. In the morning, boats filled with flowers, fruits, and vegetables gather to make a floating market. People smile and trade their goods, their voices buzzing like happy bees. I give families food to eat and water to travel on. I am a giant, watery hug for all the people, plants, and animals who live here, and I love sharing my gifts with everyone.
