Just want Neuschwanstein Castle?
High up in the mountains, where the clouds float by, you can see me sparkle. I have tall, white towers that reach for the sun, just like in a fairy tale. I am nestled on top of a rocky hill, surrounded by a forest of green trees. Don't I look like a castle from one of your favorite storybooks. I think so. My name is a little long, but it's special. I am Neuschwanstein Castle.
A kind man dreamed of me a long, long time ago. He was a king, and his name was Ludwig II. King Ludwig loved stories about brave knights and beautiful swans. He wanted a special, quiet place where he could feel like he was living inside one of his favorite tales. So, on a special day, September 5th, 1869, his wonderful workers started building me. They put big stones together, one by one, making my walls strong and my towers tall. The king loved to visit and watch me grow bigger and bigger. He was so happy when he finally got to live inside my cozy rooms, but he only stayed for a little while.
After the king was gone, something wonderful happened. In the year 1886, my big, heavy doors were opened for everyone to see inside. Now, new friends from all over the world climb the hill to come and say hello. They walk through my pretty rooms and look out my windows at the mountains. I love hearing their happy whispers and seeing their smiling faces. I love sharing the king's wonderful dream with everyone. I hope that when you see me, you remember that your own dreams can be as big and beautiful as a castle in the clouds.
