I Am a Good Listener

Hi there! My name is Being a Good Listener. I am the special skill you use to show friends you care. When you use me, you use your ears, your eyes, and even your heart to understand what someone is really trying to say.

Imagine your friend Maya is sad because she fell off her bike. I can help you stop playing, look at her, and ask, 'Are you okay?'. Instead of just running past, you can listen to her story about the scrape on her knee. When you do that, she feels cared for and not so alone.

I have a few superpowers that you can use. One is keeping your body still and looking at the person talking. Another is nodding your head to show you're following along. My biggest superpower is waiting until they are finished before you talk. This shows respect!

When you practice being a good listener, you build stronger, happier friendships. I help you and your friends solve problems and understand each other's feelings. I am here to help you connect with people every single day, making the world a kinder place. I continue to grow as you learn new ways to show people you care, and my story matters because every time you listen, you make a friendship stronger.
