Hello, I'm Bravery

Hello! I am Bravery. You and I have met before, even if you didn't know my name. I'm not the feeling of being fearless; I'm the choice you make to do something even when you feel scared. I am learning to be brave, and I'm here to help you learn too.

I show up in small but important ways. I was there with you on the first day of school back in September when you walked into a brand new classroom, not knowing anyone. Your stomach might have felt a little fluttery, but I helped you take that first step inside. I helped your voice stay steady during your book report on October 15th, even when you felt nervous speaking in front of everyone. I was with you on November 3rd, when you saw a friend being treated unkindly on the playground. I gave you the strength to stand up for them because you knew it was the right thing to do.

Every time you use me, I grow stronger inside you. It might start with something that seems simple, like raising your hand to ask a question when you aren't sure of the answer. Then, that strength builds. I was there when you decided to try out for the soccer team in January, even though you weren't sure you would make it. Being brave means you were strong enough to try, and that is how you learn and build confidence in yourself.

I am not just for superheroes in movies; I am a part of you that is always there. I continue to help people today by giving them the strength to face challenges, stand up for what’s right, and discover how capable they truly are. I learned a lot over time about how to help you grow. I'm always here, ready for our next adventure together.
