Just want Bullying Prevention?
Hello. I am Bullying Prevention. You can think of me as a shield made of kindness and courage. I show up whenever someone decides to be a friend, to speak up for what's right, and to make sure everyone feels safe and included. I am the choice to be an 'upstander'—someone who helps—instead of a bystander who just watches. I am the strength you find when you stand up for others.
I was with a girl named Maya at recess one day. She saw a new student, Leo, being teased by another kid. At first, Maya felt her stomach twist into knots; she was scared and didn't know what to do. That's when I gave her a little nudge of courage. She took a deep breath, walked over to Leo, and said, 'Hey Leo, want to play with us?'. Then she turned to the other kid and said firmly, 'Please stop. That's not kind.'. In that one moment, Maya used me to change the whole situation for the better, making the playground a safer place for everyone.
That day, I saw Maya grow a little taller with confidence. She learned that even a small act of kindness can make a huge difference. I am still with her, and with anyone who chooses to be an upstander. I continue to grow stronger every time someone decides to speak up and be a friend. By choosing to help, you can build a shield of kindness for everyone.
