Just want Hope (Elpis)?
I am Hope, but in ancient times, people called me Elpis. My story is very old, and it begins inside a special jar. A curious woman named Pandora couldn't resist opening it, and when she did, all sorts of troubles flew out and scattered across the world. Sadness, anger, and worry were suddenly everywhere. But when Pandora looked inside the jar again, she saw me. I was the only thing left, a tiny, glowing spark. I am the feeling you get when everything seems difficult, but you still believe that things can get better. When you face a big challenge, I am the little voice inside you that whispers, 'Don't give up just yet.'
You have definitely felt my presence before. Think about a time you were learning to ride your bike and kept falling down. Or maybe you were working on a very difficult school project that felt like it would never be finished. That small, determined push you felt to get back on the bike or to write one more sentence? That was me. I am the feeling that helps you see the possibility of success, even when it feels very far away. When you decide to study hard for a test after you didn't do well on the last one, I am there. When you keep practicing your soccer kicks even after missing an important goal, I am with you, shining a light on what you could achieve. I am not a magical promise that things will be easy, but I am the strength that helps you keep going until they get better. My story is still being written every single day, inside of everyone. I am always there, waiting to be found, especially in the most difficult moments. Remember that even when things feel dark, I am the spark that can light the way forward.
