The story

Hello, I'm Responsibility

Hello. You have certainly met me before. I'm Responsibility. I am that distinct feeling you get when you know someone is truly counting on you to follow through. You can find me in the promise you keep to a friend, the chore you finish for your family without being asked, and the homework you complete on time for your teacher. I’m not always easy to carry, but I am always worth the effort. I am about taking ownership of your actions and commitments, proving to others—and most importantly, to yourself—that you can be trusted.

Sometimes, I can feel quite heavy, like when you forget to do your part for a school group project and realize the team's grade is now at risk because of your mistake. But then comes the important moment when you choose to lift me up and take action. It’s when you decide to apologize to your group, stay late at the library to finish the work, or set a daily alarm on your phone to remember to feed your pet. When you make that choice, the heavy weight you felt transforms into a feeling of pride. Your friends learn to trust you, your family can rely on you, and you learn how to count on yourself.
