The story

Hello, I'm Sadness

Hello. My name is Sadness. I am a feeling that everyone has sometimes. I visit when you have to say goodbye to someone you love, or when you feel lonely. It is okay for me to be there. I am just a part of you.

When I visit, you might feel heavy, like a sleepy bear. Your smile might hide, and a little tear, like a raindrop, might roll down your cheek. You might want to be very quiet and cuddle up with a soft blanket or get a big, warm hug from a grown-up you trust.

It's okay to cry or talk about me. That helps me get ready to leave. I don't stay for long. Soon, a fun game, a yummy snack, or a happy thought will come along, and you will feel lighter. I help you understand what is important to you.
