Let's Get Moving!

Being active means I move my body in all sorts of fun ways. Instead of sitting still, I can run, jump, dance, and play. When I move my body, I can feel my heart beating a little faster. My breath gets quicker, too, and this is how I know my body is getting stronger.

It is easy for me to be active every day. First, I think of something I love to do that involves moving, like playing tag outside or having a dance party in my room. Next, I make sure I am wearing comfy clothes so I can move around easily. Then, I just start moving. I can try to be active for as long as it takes to sing three of my favorite songs. I do not need special equipment, just my own amazing body and a little space to move.

Moving my body helps me in so many ways. It makes my bones and muscles strong for climbing at the playground and running in a race. Being active also gives me lots of energy for learning at school. It can even make me feel happier. When I feel worried or grumpy, sometimes a little bit of running or jumping around helps me feel much better.

Being active is how I take care of my body so it can do all the things I want it to do. Every little bit of movement counts, from walking the dog to helping carry groceries. Keeping my body active helps it stay healthy and strong for today, tomorrow, and all the years to come.
