The story

Keeping My Smile Bright

Brushing my teeth is how I take care of my smile every day. It cleans away tiny bits of food and keeps my teeth strong for chewing yummy snacks like apples. Doing this helps my smile stay healthy and shiny for school pictures and laughing with friends.

First, I grab my toothbrush and squeeze on a little dot of toothpaste, just the size of a pea. I start by brushing the outside of my teeth in gentle, little circles, like I'm drawing bubbles. Then, I do the same thing on the inside of my teeth, top and bottom. I don't forget the flat tops where I chew my food. I make sure to brush for about two minutes, which is like singing the 'Happy Birthday' song twice. After my teeth are sparkling, I gently brush my tongue to make my breath extra fresh. Finally, I spit out all the foamy toothpaste, rinse my mouth with water, and give my toothbrush a good rinse before putting it away.

Brushing my teeth in the morning and before bed is super important. It fights off cavities, which are little holes that can make teeth hurt. When my mouth feels clean, my breath smells fresh, which is nice when I'm talking close to my family and friends. Taking care of my teeth helps me feel healthy and confident every single day.
