Just want Saola?
Hello! My name is Saola. I am a very special animal that lives deep in the forest. I have two very long, straight horns on my head and pretty white marks on my face that look like little moons. I am very shy, so I like to hide in my home. I live in the green, misty forests of a place called the Annamite Mountains. It is quiet and safe there, and I love to walk softly among the big, tall trees.
For a very, very long time, I was a forest secret. No one outside of my home knew I was here. Then, in the year 1992, some kind scientists were exploring my forest. They were so surprised and so happy to learn about me for the first time. It was a big discovery because I am a large animal, and it is rare to find a new large animal. I was like a hidden treasure in the woods.
My favorite food is yummy green leaves and little twigs from the plants that grow all around me. My forest home is so important. It gives me food to eat and a safe place to sleep. Today, many kind people are working very hard to protect my forest. They help keep my family and me safe and sound, so we can continue to live happily in our secret home.
