Just want Adolphe Sax?
Hello. My name is Adolphe Sax. A long, long time ago, when I was a little boy, I loved to visit my dad’s workshop. My dad, Charles-Joseph Sax, made musical instruments. I loved to watch him work with all the wood and shiny brass. It was so much fun to see. I learned how to make instruments, too. I wanted to be just like him when I grew up.
As I got older, I loved making new things. I had a wonderful idea to create a brand-new instrument that no one had ever seen before. I wanted it to have a big, strong sound like a trumpet. I also wanted it to have a soft, smooth sound like a clarinet. I worked very hard in my workshop. I spent a lot of time putting different shiny pieces together to make my new invention. I knew it would be special.
I called my new instrument the saxophone. It had a beautiful, curvy shape and made a wonderful, new sound. My invention made so many people happy. I lived to be 79 years old, and my work was my greatest joy. Today, you can still hear the amazing sound of the saxophone in happy music all over the world.
