Just want Adolphe Sax?
Hello! My name is Adolphe Sax. I was born a very long time ago, on November 6th, 1814, in a town in Belgium called Dinant. My father was a wonderful instrument maker. Our house was always full of exciting sounds, like sawing wood and hammering metal, and of course, beautiful music! I loved being in his workshop more than anywhere else. I would watch him carefully as he created amazing flutes and clarinets from different pieces. Even when I was just a little boy, I dreamed that one day I would invent my own special instruments, just like him.
When I was a young man, I moved to the big, exciting city of Paris in France. An idea had been buzzing around in my head for a long time. I wanted to create a completely new instrument that no one had ever seen or heard before! My big idea was to make an instrument that had the big, strong sound of a brass instrument, like a trumpet, but could also play the soft, gentle notes of a woodwind instrument, like a clarinet. It was a tricky puzzle to solve. I spent many years working hard in my own workshop. I bent shiny metal into new shapes and carefully attached all the little keys and pads. It took a lot of patience and many tries. Finally, in the year 1846, I did it! I held my invention in my hands. It was a beautiful, curvy instrument that made a brand-new sound.
What should I call my amazing new invention? I decided to name it after myself! I called it the saxophone. Because it was so new and looked so different, some people were not sure about it at first. They had never heard anything like it! But I didn't give up. Soon, the leaders of military bands discovered my saxophones. They loved them because their sound was loud and strong, which was perfect for playing music outdoors during parades. My dream was starting to come true. The sound of the saxophone began to travel from city to city, and more and more people started to hear its special voice.

I lived to be 79 years old, and my whole life was filled with creating and sharing music with the world. After I was gone, my saxophone became even more famous than I ever imagined. It found a special new home in a type of music called jazz. Musicians discovered they could play all kinds of feelings on the saxophone, from happy and fast to slow and sad. Today, you can hear its cool, smooth sound in so many different songs. My invention is still making music and bringing joy to people everywhere, and that makes me very proud.
