Just want Bernardo O'Higgins?
Hello! My name is Bernardo O’Higgins. I was born a long, long time ago, in the year 1778. I grew up in a beautiful country called Chile. Chile has tall, snowy mountains that touch the sky and a very, very long beach right next to the big blue ocean. I loved my home very much. I always wanted to help all the people who lived there and make it a happy place for everyone.
When I grew up, I became a soldier so I could be a helper. I wanted my country, Chile, to be free to make its own choices. In the year 1818, I worked with many other brave people, and together we helped our country. It was a very important job, and I was so proud to be a leader for my people. I always tried my best to be strong and kind.
Because I helped Chile become a free country, people remember me as a hero. They even call me one of the 'Fathers of the Nation,' which makes me feel very proud. I lived to be 64 years old. Today, people in Chile are proud of their country, and they remember me as someone who helped make it a special place to live.
