Just want Carl Jung?
Hello! My name is Carl Jung. I was born in a beautiful country called Switzerland on July 26th, 1875. When I was a boy, I didn't play with lots of other children. Instead, I loved spending my time alone, exploring nature, reading books, and just thinking. I was always very curious about people. I would watch them and wonder, 'Why do they do the things they do? What are they thinking and feeling inside?' This curiosity would guide me for my entire life.
When I grew up, I decided to become a doctor. But I didn't want to just fix broken bones. I wanted to help people with their feelings and thoughts. So, in the early 1900s, I became a special kind of doctor called a psychiatrist. My job was to listen to people's stories. I was especially interested in their dreams! I believed that our dreams could tell us important things about ourselves. I wanted to help my patients understand their own minds so they could feel happier and more whole.
Around 1907, I met another famous doctor named Sigmund Freud. He also had fascinating ideas about the mind, and we became good friends. We wrote letters and talked for hours about our discoveries. For a while, we worked together, but soon I realized that my ideas were a little different from his. I believed that ancient stories, art, and symbols were a key to understanding everyone. I thought each person had a unique path to follow to become their true self.
I decided to follow my own path and develop my own ideas, which I called 'analytical psychology.' It was my special way of looking at the mind. For example, have you ever noticed that some people are shy and quiet, while others are outgoing and love being in big groups? I was one of the first people to describe these differences, calling them introverts and extroverts. I wrote many books to share my ideas, hoping to help people all over the world understand themselves and each other a little bit better.
