Claude Debussy
Hello! My name is Claude. A long, long time ago, in the year 1862, I was born. I am a composer. That’s a fancy word for someone who writes music. When I was a little boy, I discovered the piano, and it felt like magic. I didn’t just want to play notes; I wanted to paint pictures with sounds.
I loved looking at the world around me. I saw the big, blue sea, the fluffy clouds in the sky, and the moon shining so brightly at night. I would listen to the sounds of nature and try to copy them in my music. One of my favorite songs is called 'Clair de lune,' which means 'moonlight.' When you listen, it sounds soft and sparkly, just like moonbeams dancing on the water.
I lived for 55 years, filling the world with my musical paintings until the year 1918. Even though that was a long time ago, people still listen to my music today when they want to relax, dream, or feel happy. I hope when you hear my songs, you think of beautiful things, like gentle waves and starry nights.
