The story

Elizabeth I: The Queen of the Golden Age

Hello! My name is Elizabeth, and I was a princess in a big castle in England. When I was born on September 7th, 1533, the bells rang all over London. I had bright red hair, just like my father, the king. I loved to learn new things, read books, and play music. Even as a little girl, I knew I wanted to help my country one day.

When I grew up, I became the queen of England! On the day I became queen in 1558, it was a very big celebration. I wore a beautiful crown and promised my people I would always take care of them. I loved England with all my heart. I told everyone that I was married to my country and its people were my children.

My time as queen was a very happy and exciting time for England. People called it the 'Golden Age.' There were wonderful new plays to watch, poems to read, and brave explorers sailed across the ocean to discover new parts of the world. It was a time of peace and fun. I lived to be 69 years old, and my reign was one of the longest in my country's history. Today, people remember me as a strong queen who loved her country and helped it become a happy, shining place.
