Just want Francis Bacon?
Hello, my name is Francis Bacon. I lived a very long, long time ago in a country called England. When I was a little boy, I was full of curiosity. I loved to look at the big world all around me. I asked lots and lots of questions. I would ask, "Why is the sky blue?" and "How do flowers grow?"
I had a big idea about learning. Around the year 1620, most people learned things by reading old books. But I thought it was more fun to learn by looking, touching, and testing things for yourself. I believed that to really understand something, you had to watch it carefully. You could do little experiments, just like a detective solving a mystery. This was a brand new way to think about learning and discovering things.
My idea of asking questions and testing answers helped other curious people, who we call scientists, make amazing discoveries. I lived to be 65 years old. My ideas helped create a special way of learning called the scientific method. People still use it today to invent new things and understand our wonderful world. It is wonderful to know my curious ideas are still helping people learn.
